The tennis season springs to life in early April and stretches through November, offering a full range of adult and junior programs under the guidance of certified instructors. Their landmark tennis house boasts a Pro-Shop, on-site stringing, a snack bar, locker rooms, and a spacious outdoor veranda. At the Central Park Tennis Center, players of all ages and levels can indulge in private and semi-private lessons, adult group clinics, cardio tennis, and a dynamic junior development program. Even the tiniest tots aged 4 to 7 can join the fun with the Tiny Tots program. Accessible via subway and open seven days a week from 6:30 am till dusk, the Central Park Tennis Center is where tennis dreams come alive, and champions are made!

The courts are open daily from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., giving you plenty of time to spar against your tennis rival or practice your doubles game. Don’t forget to pick up a tennis permit and reserve your court before you play, both of which can be handled online at the New York City Parks Department website. Grab your soft-sole tennis shoes, your racket and a couple of balls, and then head down to the courts to work on your serve.

The facility allows players access to 5 newly redone hard courts in an air-conditioned/heated year-round bubble. This way you don’t have to say goodbye to your favorite sport just because there is snow on the ground. The Club offers private lessons, group lessons, competitive tennis programs and non-competitive programs. Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club will even find you a partner if you don’t have one. The Club also has a junior program for ages 6 to 17, in this program children will receive individual attention from some of the best tennis players in New York.
