Located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Saigon Social offers Vietnamese comfort food with a twist. Helen Nguyen, executive chef and owner, has always had a passion for food. As a first-generation Vietnamese woman, she spent her childhood cooking alongside her mother. Influenced by her heritage, Helen moved to NYC from Seattle to pursue her dream. Combining her love of food, community, and culture, she got her start by doing pop-ups but eventually knew she wanted a kitchen of her own. Due to the pandemic, plans were shifted. Finally, in March of 2022, Saigon Social was officially born. That same year Helen was named 2022 James Beard Award Semi-Finalist for Best Chef New York State.
