From Sam Malone of Cheers to Moe Szyslak of The Simpsons, bartenders can certainly be one-of-a-kind characters. It could be because of their overall demeanor. Or perhaps it’s how they pour their drinks. Either way they can set the tone and atmosphere for your whole night out. Since 1986, Paddy Reilly’s Music Bar has been known as the best Irish bar in the city. And part of that is a nod to their awesome bartenders. Whether pouring a basic Guinness or crafting that perfect cocktail, the bartenders at Paddy Reilly’s are as popular as the live music you’ll find at this iconic Irish bar.

Known as a “cocktail virtuoso” and “walking drinks encyclopedia”, Jack McGarry has earned the title of Best Bartender through years of mixing drinks. McGarry began his career in Belfast, where he started bussing tables and soon graduated to bartending in the city’s budding nightlife scene. He then brought his talents to NYC to open the Dead Rabbit, a ground floor pub built on the Irish tradition of hospitality and community. According to reviewers, watching McGarry make their drinks is like a show. Just a few of his must try creations include the Disco Queen — made with white rum, vermouth, ginger and grapefruit — Doctor’s Orders — a concoction of bourbon, cinnimon and vanilla, of course, perfected classics like Irish punch and Irish coffee!

The Dead Rabbit is a great spot for drinks and food. Located in the Financial District, it’s a mix between an Irish Pub and New York cocktail bar. On the first floor, the lively bar is crowded and loud, but it’s part of the charm making for an inviting, warm and friendly atmosphere. The bartenders are experts in mixing and creating drinks. The food is also prepared with care, offering Irish fare, perfect to go with a craft beer, or cocktail. The food and drinks are spectacular with a mix of different tastes and flavors. Be sure to check it out if you’re looking to have a wonderful night out in the city.
